Zsolt Janossy, known as ‘Beatinspector' embodies the vibrant spirit of Budapest's underground music scene and international DJ adventures.
Inspired by pioneers like late Zsolt Palotai, Beatinspector champions the ethos of freedom and diversity in music.
Drawing on his extraordinary background, his performances are not only entertaining but can also be deeply restorative for tired minds, reaffirming the bond between music, humanity, and communities.
Born in April, described as the 'son of the sun,' his mixes radiate energy and unite eclectic beats with a commitment to social and cultural activism.
His inspiration fueled by the pioneering spirit of Tilos Rádió, Beatinspector’s sound celebrates the pure essence of music, honoring the rich tapestry of sounds that have resonated through the streets of Budapest and beyond.
Mostly improvisative digital jockey, electronic performer, organizer, idea factory, music supervisor, creative activist.
Beatinspector is the sonic world of Zsolt Jánossy — a Budapest-rooted, Scotland-based digital jockey, online and terrestrial radio activist, thinker, tinkerer, off-grid event and live stream operator.
This space grew out of underground music culture, improvised DJ practice and a long belief that sound can do more than entertain: it can connect people, restore energy, support community and keep independent culture alive.
At Beatinspector.org you’ll find live radio, mixes, essays, archives, event updates and experiments that move between online audio and video live broadcasting, face-to-face gatherings community focus and portable off-grid setups.
The musical side ranges across many many genres and border-crossing sounds, usually delivered in an improvisational style rather than performing a rigid playlists or using autopilot mixing and sync buttons.
Beatinspector prefers to play from carefully prepared “mix-kits” or “mood outfits”: selections that run two to three times longer than the booked set, ideally built in advance for the venue, yet often used the same way when crafting other kinds of magic.
This method gives each set generous headroom within a carefully designed atmosphere thus the same method often carries over into Beatinspector’s other projects and experiments supporting the impro-style.
Other than this, he is using his 100+ strong thematic collection of storage folders and 25+ years collection of dope tunes.
